The Camerata Galatea

Published by admin on

Comprised of core and guest members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Galatea is an ensemble devoted to the performance of works by female composers, as well as living history premieres of recently re-discovered works.

The brainchild of the late musicologist and Knight of Malta, Fra Richard Divall, the group has performed for the Valletta International Baroque Festival, the National Council of Women and events across Malta. To this end they have given Maltese premieres by composers as varied as Hildegard of Bingen, Fanny Mendelssohn and Elizabeth Claude Jacquet de la Guerre.

Camerata Galetea is under the artistic direction of flutist Rebecca Hall.
